Semyon Kuznets Kharkiv National University of Economics provides a full range of educational services for foreign citizens.
KhNEU them. S. Kuznets has a license for:
- preparation of foreigners for admission to higher educational institutions (preparatory department);
- training of foreign citizens in accredited areas of training (specialties);
- retraining of specialists with the provision of second higher education;
- advanced training in accredited areas (specialties);
- postgraduate and doctoral studies.

Training of foreign citizens is carried out in KhNEU. S. Kuznets since 1949. During this time, specialists have been trained, including doctors of philosophy and doctors of science for more than 85 countries in Asia, America, Africa and Europe. Our graduates have reached the positions of Prime Minister, Chairman of the Board of the National Bank, directors of companies and enterprises, teach in universities in Bulgaria, Vietnam, China, Germany, Nigeria, Poland, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, continue their studies in the UK, Canada, Slovakia, USA, France ,.
With proven experience and established traditions, the university provides quality training for top professionals, which allows them to succeed in education and future work.
Admission of foreigners to study is carried out in accordance with international agreements of Ukraine, national programs, agreements of educational institutions with legal entities and individuals. Documents on previous education must be certified in accordance with the legislation of the country of issue and legalized in the prescribed manner, unless otherwise provided by international treaties of Ukraine for their nostrification in the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine (MES of Ukraine).
For entry into Ukraine, the basis for an entry visa for study purposes is the original invitation, which is issued by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, as well as a higher education institution in the manner prescribed by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
Entry to Ukraine for study is carried out in the established MES of Ukraine and the rules of admission to the university in the following terms:
- to the preparatory department during the year;
- for admission to the educational level of bachelor and master twice a year until December 1 and May 1, respectively;
- to enter the educational and scientific level of Doctor of Philosophy during the year.
For the 1st year of the bachelor’s degree, foreigners are enrolled in higher education institutions based on the results of entrance examinations in the language of study and mathematics.
For 1 year of study at the educational level “master” are entrance exams in a foreign language and specialty.
To enter KhNEU. S. Kuznets must have the following documents:
- The original and a copy of the document on previous education;
- The original and a copy of the document (appendix to the document on education), which contains information on academic performance in academic disciplines;
- A copy of the birth certificate;
- Medical certificate of health, certified by the official health authority of the country and issued no later than 2 months before entering the study in Ukraine;
- A copy of a passport or stateless document;
- Insurance policy for emergency medical care (except for foreigners who came from countries with which agreements on free emergency medical care have been signed);
- 6 photographs measuring 3 × 4 cm;
- A copy of the certificate of a foreign Ukrainian (if any);
A research proposal for the chosen scientific specialty or a list of published scientific works and inventions in Ukrainian or English certified in accordance with the established procedure at the candidate’s place of work / study shall be additionally submitted upon admission to postgraduate studies.
To enter the doctoral program are submitted in addition in Ukrainian or English:
- thematic plan of dissertation work for obtaining the scientific degree of Doctor of Sciences;
- a copy of the diploma on awarding the corresponding scientific degree;
The above documents must be translated into Ukrainian and notarized.
Documents must be certified in the country of issue in the manner officially used in that country for such certification, and legalized by the relevant foreign diplomatic mission of Ukraine, unless otherwise provided by international treaties of Ukraine.
Documents on the education of foreigners enrolled in education, issued by educational institutions of other countries, are recognized in Ukraine in accordance with the law.
Training period:
- at the preparatory department – 1 year;
- at the bachelor’s degree – 4 years (full-time), 5 years (correspondence);
- in master’s degree – 1.5 years (full-time and part-time form of study),
- in the training programs of doctors of philosophy, doctors of sciences – 4 years.
- in the preparatory department – the equivalent of 1300 US dollars;
- undergraduate and graduate (full-time) – depending on the specialty is equivalent to 1200 to 2000 US dollars;
- undergraduate and graduate (part-time) – depending on the specialty is equivalent to 900 to 1850 US dollars;
- in training programs for doctors of philosophy,
- Doctors of Science – USD 2,800 (full-time) and USD 2,350 (correspondence)
