Religion has existed for many centuries, but the further it develops, the further the role of religion in the life of society. The city has many different temples, cathedrals and a church. The Annunciation Cathedral (1) became a recognizable and second generally accepted symbol of the city.
Rest is important for everyone. To just sit on a bench, walk along the alleys. Such a place in Kharkiv is the picturesque square “Arrow” (2). It is located at the confluence of the rivers Lopan and Kharkiv. According to numerous legends, this is where the emergence of our city began. After the reconstruction, the park turned from a run into a beautiful landscaping and a comfortable place in the city.
There is a boat station on the territory of the park, where you can rent a boat for a romantic walk on the river and admire the landscape.
It is not easy to meet in a city of millions, but Kharkiv residents have a place where everyone has traditionally met for many years and generations – it’s Gradusnyk (3). You can eat very tasty in the old restored house, which is a catering establishment “Puzata Khata” (4).
To see the 7 wonders of Kharkiv in one place, you can visit the Square of Architects (5). Models of the State Industrial Complex, a monument to Taras Shevchenko, the Mirror Stream, the Holy Annunciation Cathedral and others have been installed on it.
Even the streets of Kharkiv have a history. For example, Rymarska Street (6) is one of the oldest in the city of Kharkiv, its construction began in the seventeenth century. Judging by the name, it was inhabited by leather craftsmen – this craft was very common in Kharkov. Or Donets-Zakharzhevskoho Street (7) is considered to be one of the shortest streets in our city, with a length of only about 160 meters. It is a link between Theater Square and Mechnikov Lane. Founded in the 19th century, it is named after Colonel of the Kharkiv Sloboda Cossack Regiment and Izium Sloboda Cossack Regiment Hryhoriy Yerofiyovych Dinets, who defended himself against Tatar attacks for many years. He became famous for participating in the construction of many fortresses and settlements in Slobozhanshchina.
And finally, I would like to mention everyone’s favorite central park of culture and recreation. M. Gorky (8) – the best amusement park in Ukraine! Having been there once, I want to come back again and again. It has more than 30 modern world-class attractions. The most popular attraction is the Catapult.
