Science Day (since 1997) is a professional holiday for scientists in Ukraine. It is celebrated annually on the third Saturday of May.
The holiday was established in Ukraine “…in support of the initiative of famous scientists, scientific institutions, and trade unions of Ukraine…” according to the Decree of the President of Ukraine “On Science Day” dated February 14, 1997 No. 145/97.
This holiday is different from World Science Day, which is celebrated annually on November 10.
❗The Center for Countering Disinformation reminds of the need to observe information hygiene❗
⚔ The war continues, in particular, in the information space. The aggressor spreads dozens of fakes and manipulative statements every day in order to destabilize the situation in Ukraine.
📱 Only during the last week of April, according to official data, 70 narratives aimed at discrediting the military-political leadership of Ukraine, the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the President of Ukraine were spread. Almost half of them are manipulations, and more than 20% are outright disinformation. 🚫
💁 In this regard, we remind you of the rules for observing information hygiene:
✅ trust only verified information from official sources;
❌ do not spread news from unknown sites and news aggregators where you cannot track the source;
⚠ do not follow suspicious links;
🚫 do not trust news or statements that are provocative and/or clickbait in nature.
🙏 Take care of yourself! Believe in the Armed Forces of Ukraine
