National symbols are evidence of the high spirit of our people, its historical aspirations, uniqueness, a kind of genetic code of the nation. The predestination of a real citizen of Ukraine is to know; and respect the symbols of their state, deliberately adhere to the honors and rules of conduct regarding state symbols in everyday life, during solemn and official events.

The meaning of blue and yellow colors on the flag is traditionally interpreted as a combination of a clear, peaceful cloudless sky, which stretches over the yellow color of the grain field – a symbol of peaceful labor and prosperity.

The State Emblem of Ukraine consists of the Small and Large emblems. Now only the Small Coat of Arms of Ukraine is used, which was approved on February 19, 1992. Since ancient times, the trident has been revered as a magic sign, a kind of amulet.

On March 6, 2003, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the Law “On the State Anthem of Ukraine”. The bill proposed to approve the National Anthem to the music of Mikhail Verbitsky as the State Anthem with the words of only the first verse and chorus of Pavel Chubinsky’s song “Ukraine has not died yet.”

KhNEU is one of the leading higher educational institutions in Ukraine. This is a wonderful university with its own history and symbols. Every conscientious student should know the symbolism of his university.
